Get Internet on an Android Tablet: Share 4G, 5G or Ethernet from Your PC

The Problem

With Connectify Hotspot installed on your PC laptop, you can easily share Internet from your wired Ethernet for free, or from your 4G or 5G LTE USB stick with PRO, as WiFi, so Android tablets and other mobile devices can get online, no matter where you are.

Wired in, Wi-Fi out

No router? Connectify Hotspot makes your Windows PC the router.

A Windows PC with a working connection already has everything a router has. Connectify Hotspot takes the connection coming in over the cable and hands out a Wi-Fi network your other devices can join.

Wired in Wi-Fi out

  • At the office

A desk with a network port and no wireless you are allowed to join. The Windows PC on that port can put your phone on the same connection.

  • In a hotel room

Older rooms still have an Ethernet socket behind the desk and little else. One cable covers everything you travelled with.

  • At home

A modem with no Wi-Fi built in. The Windows PC already plugged into that modem can hand out a network to the rest of the house.

Compare Lite, PRO and MAX

Wired in, Wi-Fi out works in the free Hotspot Lite. If you use it every day, Connectify Hotspot PRO removes the time limit.

Start a Connectify Hotspot

Sharing Ethernet works in the free version, Connectify Hotspot Lite. Sharing a 4G or 5G modem or USB stick needs Connectify Hotspot PRO.

How to Share Your Connection with Your Android Tablet in 5 Steps

  1. Download and install Connectify Hotspot on your 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC.
  2. Open it and choose Wi-Fi hotspot.
  3. Under Internet to share, pick the connection you want to share: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, a VPN or a phone plugged in with USB. With PRO, you can also pick a 4G or 5G modem or USB stick.
  4. Set a password. Turn on Block ads if you want lighter pages on every device.
  5. Click Start hotspot. Devices join by scanning the QR code on the Hotspot screen, or with the network name and password, like any other Wi-Fi network.

Connect your Android Tablet to the Connectify Hotspot

Step One: From your tablet’s homescreen, find your WiFi settings app and make sure that the Wi-Fi toggle is set to the On position.
Step Two: Tap Wi-Fi to open a list of available networks
Step Three: Once the list of available WiFi networks populates, you should see your Connectify Hotspot’s SSID sharing your connection as WiFi. Connect to that network by tapping it.
Step Four: You will be prompted for the password that you gave your Connectify Hotspot. Enter your password to connect.

There you have it, folks! Getting your Android tablet onto LTE and other mobile broadband networks is as easy as pie with Connectify Hotspot PRO.
